{Governor Rendell signs Act 44 while legislators and other transportation leaders look on.} Welcome to RideonPa.org, dedicated to helping Pennsylvanians get the facts about solving our transportation funding crisis.
 
On July 18, Governor Rendell signed Act 44 creating the Public Transportation Trust Fund and making historic investments in Pennsylvania’s roads, bridges and public transit agencies. Over the next 10 years an additional $946 million, on average, will be invested in making our road and bridges safer and, for the first time, provide a dedicated funding source for public transit systems.
 
Governor Rendell Comments on the Safety of PA's Bridges
after the Minneapolis Bridge Collapse
On August 2, 2007, Governor Rendell extended sympathy on behalf of the Commonwealth to the families who lost loved ones in the tragedy in Minnesota. The Governor asserted that Pennsylvania's bridges are safe and can be traversed with all reasonable expectations for safety.
